My Mobile Witness, Inc. ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring the confidentiality of information submitted through the See Something Send Something® application.

1. Information We Collect

Information You Provide

• Personal Information: Your name and phone number, which you provide when you sign up. This is the only personal information the Company asks you to provide.
• Tip Information: Photos, videos, notes, and descriptions you submit
• Location Data and IP Address: The geolocation of each submission (geo-tagging) and the IP address it was sent from
• Device Information: Device type, operating system, and app version

Information Collected Automatically

• Time and date of tip submissions
• App usage statistics for service improvement
• Technical information necessary for app functionality

Website Analytics

This website (not the See Something Send Something application) uses Google Analytics to measure which pages are visited and which links are used, so we can improve the site. Google Analytics receives page views, approximate location, device and browser type, and a random identifier stored in a cookie. We do not send it tips, names, telephone numbers, or anything you type into a form, and we do not use it for advertising. The site does not load Google Analytics when your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal. You can also block it with a browser extension such as the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.

2. How We Use Your Information

Primary Purpose: All information collected is used exclusively to facilitate the transmission of tips to appropriate law enforcement agencies and fusion centers.

Specific Uses Include:

• Routing tips to the appropriate State Fusion Centers and law enforcement agencies
• Geo-tagging submissions to ensure proper jurisdictional routing
• Enabling law enforcement to follow up on credible tips when necessary
• Using your geolocation and IP address to send you alerts related to your tip
• Improving app functionality and user experience
• Complying with legal obligations and law enforcement requests

3. Information Sharing and Disclosure

Law Enforcement Sharing

When you submit a tip through the application, the Company routes your tip content, your Personal Information (name and phone number), and your IP address to the appropriate State Fusion Center based on geographic location. At the Fusion Center, an analyst reviews your tip and forwards it to the appropriate law enforcement agency.

If you choose to send an anonymous tip where your state permits it, the Company does not disclose your Personal Information to the Fusion Center. See Anonymity and Confidentiality below for the conditions that apply.

After delivery of your tip, your Personal Information, IP address, and the geolocation of your submission are stored on the Company’s server and used to send you alerts related to your tip.

We DO NOT:

• Sell, rent, or trade your Personal Information to third parties
• Disclose your Personal Information to advertisers or any third parties for marketing or commercial purposes
• Broaden or change the scope of the user and device data we collect without first obtaining your consent
• Actively track your location when the app is not in use

Legal Disclosure

The Company may disclose information about the application’s users, including Personal Information, if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such disclosure is reasonably necessary to:

• Respond to a verified request from law enforcement or other governmental officials relating to a criminal investigation or alleged illegal or unlawful activity. In such events, the Company will disclose information relevant to the investigation, including without limitation name, telephone number, IP address, and geolocation
• Share information with law enforcement as you agreed in the End User License Agreement
• Respond to legal process (for example, subpoenas or court orders)
• Respond to claims that content provided by a user violates the rights of third parties
• Enforce the End User License Agreement
• Protect the rights, property, or personal safety of the Company, its users, or the general public
• Work with service providers under contract who help with our business operations and help detect and prevent potentially illegal acts

4. Data Retention and Security

Retention Period

• Tip Content: Photos, videos, and notes are transmitted to the Fusion Center on submission. Photographs taken through the application are removed from the application after delivery; copies of pre-existing photographs are forwarded and the originals stay on your device
• After Delivery: Your Personal Information, IP address, and the geolocation of your submission are stored on the Company’s server and used to send you alerts related to your tip
• Registration Information: Retained while you maintain an account. You can update your Personal Information and modify permissions through the application
• Technical Logs: Maintained for a limited period for security and troubleshooting purposes

Security Measures

We implement industry-standard security measures including:

• Encrypted transmission of all data
• Secure servers with restricted access
• Regular security audits and updates
• Compliance with law enforcement data security standards

In the event your data is compromised, the Company will provide you with notice in accordance with applicable law.

5. Your Rights and Choices

Anonymity and Confidentiality

The application collects your Personal Information (name and phone number) so that law enforcement can follow up on a tip when necessary. Information you submit is treated as confidential by law enforcement agencies. You may choose to provide limited information in your tips, though this may affect law enforcement’s ability to investigate.

For residents of certain states: If permissible in your state, you will have the option to send your tip anonymously. If you choose to send an anonymous tip, the Company will not disclose your Personal Information to the Fusion Center. However, the Company reserves the right to de-anonymize your Personal Information upon a request from the Fusion Center or law enforcement based on the risk of imminent harm and/or exigent circumstance under applicable state law.

An anonymous tip is therefore not untraceable. The disclosure provisions in Section 3 continue to apply.

Control Over Your Information

• Your Personal Information: You can update your Personal Information and modify permissions you have previously given us by accessing your account through the application
• Account Deletion: You may delete your account at any time by removing the app from your device
• Tip Submission: Once a tip is submitted, it becomes the property of law enforcement and cannot be retrieved or deleted
• Location Services: You can control location permissions through your device settings

6. Children's Privacy

The See Something Send Something® application is not intended for use by children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 13, we will promptly delete that information.

8. International Users

This application is intended for use within the United States and its territories. Information submitted through the app is processed and stored in the United States and shared with U.S. law enforcement agencies.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by:

• Posting the new Privacy Policy on this page
• Updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this policy
• Providing notice through the application when feasible
